"A Window To Reflections" seeks to capture the reflections of the morning light through my kitchen window where I usually start my day. The roses in the crystal vases were photographed in various compositions before choosing this one. The soft light on the fresh roses and the reflections on the Blackstone tabletop, in my eyes, depict both hard expectations and soft reflections of new possibilities. The multi-hued flowers reach up toward the sunlight, ringed by the whirls of the iron window grill, resulting in a sparkle of cut glass and a promise of each day. The painting was done using multiple layers of watercolours to express the value of light falling on varied textures and values.
